In a high-stakes immigration case, an Arab American man is accused of fraudulent marriage to gain a visa, and deportation will send him back to a life-threatening situation. When his interpreter, a young Arab American woman, receives a marriage proposal from his White American lawyer, she is caught between the image of a storybook American life, her feelings for the defendant, and her need to define her own identity, leaving it up to her which words to translate and which to leave unspoken.

Directed by Carla Milarch. Featuring Robbie Abdelhoq, Aya Aziz, and Jeremy Kucharek. (Apple Season, Admissions). The production and design team includes Xavier Williamson (scenic design), Daniel C. Walker (lighting design), Marley Boone (costume design), Diane Hill (sound design), and Briana O’Neal (stage manager/props).

Tickets are $22. Pay-what-you-can tickets for those in need are available at the door unless the performance is sold out or sells out before you arrive at the box office which opens one hour before each performance. We do not make reservations without payment in advance. Seats are general admission, and we work with a ticket-less system.  You will receive a receipt for your ticket purchase from No need to print your receipt after purchase. Just give your name at Will Call.

Subscriber tickets are emailed 3-4 weeks prior to each production. If you are not able to attend your particular subscriber series performance, please email us or call the box office 734-635-8450 at least 24 hours in advance, or we cannot guarantee that we will able to exchange your tickets.

All orders made are under the agreement that we will not refund money for any tickets under any circumstance. Canceled reservations or NO SHOWS will not be refunded and the tickets do not transfer to a performance of a different show. Unused tickets may be converted to a donation to Theatre NOVA only if Theatre NOVA is notified at least 24 hours prior to the performance.

All tickets may be exchanged free of charge up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled performance for a different performance of the same production. Cancelled tickets or NO SHOWS will not be refunded.

Inclement Weather Policy. If the theatre determines that a performance can be held, then the "show will go on!" A liberal exchange policy will be in effect, meaning that patrons will be allowed to exchange their tickets for future performances of the same production (if available) or a future production of equal or lesser value. If a performance is held, there are NO REFUNDS on pre-paid tickets.  Exchange tickets are subject to availability and must be completed 2 hours prior to curtain or will be considered a no show and tickets will be forfeited.

If the theatre determines that a performance can NOT be held, this decision is made at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled curtain time.  In this case, patrons are given three options:
1 - Exchange tickets for another performance during the run
2 - Exchange tickets for another production later in the season if there is no availability for current production
3 - Transfer ticket purchase to a Theatre NOVA donation (tax-deductible)
NOTE:  Tickets being exchanged on a performance which can NOT be held, must be exchanged within seven days of the canceled performance.  Tickets that are not rescheduled during the 7 day period will be converted to donations after seven days. Please email the theatre to make the exchange.
